DUNSFORD
PARISH PLAN
Introduction
to the Parish Plan
The
idea of forming a parish plan was discussed at a Parish Council Meeting in
November 2003. The general feeling was that it would be useful to have a
document that would give some opinions of the Parish members, about what
they wanted in the Parish and what they didn’t, because often, as a
Parish Council it was difficult to make decisions about what needs to be
done, when only a few members of the public attended the monthly meeting.
We wanted to be able to make plans that reflected the majority of opinion
not just the opinion of the strongest voice or those of the current Parish
Councillors.
A
small committee of interested people was formed in 2004 to formulate a
questionnaire that would give us this information. Eventually the
questionnaire was sent out to all households in the Parish in October 2005
and the information analysed.
This
document is not meant to be a formalised plan for the next 10 years of
what should be done but is to let the people of the Parish know what came
from the questionnaire and to give the Parish Council a point of reference
when topics come up for discussion or decisions need to be made about the
Parish, and so considering the majority views.
There
were Two Parts to the questionnaire. Part One, which was for one member of
the household to answer, to give a general view of the make up of the
Parish, for example numbers of people, age ranges etc. And Part Two which
was divided into 9 topics.
In
this document you will find an analysis of the results from the
questionnaire, a summary of the personal comments made.
Obviously
we can only report on the answers we received back and therefore this may
not reflect the opinions of those who have moved into the Parish since the
questionnaire took place or those who chose not to return the
questionnaire.
Thanks
go to everyone who helped produce this plan, not only those who produced
and analysed the questionnaire, but also those of you who took
the time to fill it in.
